For those looking for a nice gift for someone special without overdoing their budget, this delicate stainless steel claddagh ring is just the thing! With the top being only 7mm wide, this is perfect for a daughter, or for someone made on more the delicate side. The stock size is 7, but can be easily made in the size you need!

Stainless steel is an affordable material to create hypoallergenic jewellery for those sensitive to costume jewellery. Stainless steel is a tougher material than gold and silver and is ideal for everyday wear for those that are hard on your jewellery. The stainless steel I use is 316L grade to make sure you get no allergic reactions as 316L grade stainless steel is nickel free, lead free and cadmium free. More over, stainless steel is water resistant and doesn't tarnish and doesn't required a lot of care. It does take more work to finish pieces cast in stainless steel and can take longer to get cast, so the processing time is 1-2 weeks depending on the caster.

The Claddagh ring (Irish: fáinne Chladaigh) is a traditional Irish ring given which represents love, loyalty, and friendship (the hands represent friendship; the heart represents love; and the crown represents loyalty). The design and customs associated with it originated in the Irish fishing village of Claddagh, located just outside the old city walls of Galway, now part of Galway City. The ring, as currently known, was first produced in the 17th century.

In Ireland, the United States, and other places, the Claddagh is handed down mother-to-eldest daughter or grandmother-to-granddaughter. According to Irish author Colin Murphy, the way in which a Claddagh ring was worn with the intention of conveying the wearer's relationship status:

On the right hand with the point of the heart toward the fingertips, the wearer is single and may be looking for love. (This is most commonly the case when a young woman has first received the ring from a relative, unless she is already engaged. On the right hand with the point of the heart toward the wrist, the wearer is in a relationship. (This suggests that the wearer's heart has been "captured".) On the left hand with the point of the heart toward the fingertips, the wearer is engaged. On the left hand with the point of the heart toward the wrist, the wearer is married.

I have always had a hard time wearing rings, despite how much I've always wanted to wear them daily. But this- this ring- I love it so much I haven't taken it off since the day it got here. It's solid, but so slim and delicate that it is extremely pretty and comfortable. If you're looking for a steel Claddagh for everyday wear, this is the best one. 💗
