Some Bad News Concerning Shipping to UK and EU

Posted by Stephenie Denault on

Good day, and I hope folks are doing well. So have some bad news for some folks, especially my customer in the EU.

So as of July 1st, 2021, all online orders received from the UK and the EU require all online sellers to now collect the VAT at the time of sale. You can read up on it here; https://www.shopify.com/blog/eu-vat-changes-2021

What does that mean for my EU and UK customers? As a small business, trying to figure out how to register to collect the VAT and get a VAT number is beyond me. I know, it sucks! So unfortunately all orders from the these areas will have to be made through my Etsy shop until I can figure out how to register this. So most of my regular items are available there, but my exclusive ones will unfortunately remain on my website.

I'm going to have to figure out how to do it from here in Canada, but I will do my best from my end. So sorry about this though! But if you want to place an order before July 1st, message me and I'll do what I can to help.

Stay safe folks,

Stephenie
