This is a solidly hand made antique bronze bracelet made to order in your size.
Occasionally I go around a look for inspiration for new pieces, especially for ideas not found here in Montreal. Sometimes I come up with a creative idea inspired by nature. Sometimes I see something available only in pewter or costume jewellery that people like me can't wear due to skin allergies. This is one of them. This is a reproduction of a pewter bracelet I found at a chinese outdoor market in Montreal. The original was in seriously need of fix up, so 4 hours of touch-ups, adjusting the links, and making molds of the main pieces, I was able to make this very cool bracelet. The production time for it is 5 hours. It's made in antique bronze, which is 90% copper and 10% tin.
This bracelet can be made smaller or larger if need be. It's heavy, but solid. It weighs around 50 grams, and is robust for anyone, including men to wear it all the time. As this piece is so special, I make this bracelet on order to your size. It takes me about a week to make, but I promise it's worth the wait! I can also make one in sterling silver upon request. I can also make this bracelet in sterling silver upon request.
Bronze is an alloy that consists of a mixture of approximately 90% copper and 10% tin. Producing bronze is a less toxic process than producing brass as brass is a combination of copper and zinc, and the manufacturing process often produces zinc oxide which is toxic. Because bronze contains copper, it can turn your skin green whether you have an allergy or not. Bronze and copper turn your skin green because when the copper reacts with your sweat and the acids from your skin, it produces copper chloride. Copper chloride is a green substance that then rubs off on your skin. If you are prone to sweating, your bronze jewelry will definitely turn your skin green. This chemical reaction can also be prevented by painting any part of the jewelry that comes in contact with your skin with clear nail polish or clear acrylic enamel.
