There is a large Irish population here in Montreal, and no one was making jewellery in this style when I started. So I decided to fill the void with older designs! These are from a collection of master designs I got from a retiring jeweller here in Montreal. The original design dates from the 40's-50's, but I made a new mold and started making them in sterling silver and bronze.

The Celtic Cross Gemstone pendant is a special kind of Christian cross that comes from Ireland and Britain in ancient times, evolving from the earlier pagan standing stone crosses. Introduced by Celtic missionaries in the 9th and 10th centuries, these crosses uniquely blend Christian symbolism with traditional Celtic knotwork, creating a distinctive and enduring symbol of spiritual significance.  Even though we call it the "Celtic cross" more recently, it's been used in lots of different places and for different things, not just in Ireland. People like it because it has a long history and looks really pretty with all its fancy details.
