This handmade drinking horn pendant is made in .925 sterling silver with an antique bronze horn belt loop that acts as a bail for a chain.  The inside is empty and can hold a 1/2 oz of liquid! 

Beyond its aesthetic allure, the Viking Drinking Horn Pendant carries much symbolism. The drinking horn represents not only the joy of feasting but also the bonds forged through shared experiences, echoing the Viking tradition of communal celebrations.

Details:

  • Pendant Dimensions: The pendant measures 1cm wide and 3.5cm long from horn tip to the lip. The belt loop is 5mm wide.
  • Materials: available in either .925 sterling silver, a mix of 92.5% fine silver and 7.5% copper, and antique bronze, a mix of 90% copper and 10% tin. Both are free of nickel, zinc or cadmium, which are common metal allergens, which can cause rashes and sores. For more info on bronze, read my blog post or consult my FAQ.

The creation of this piece was inspired by a friend who was saying she never could find a drinking horn pendant. As I was at a medieval fair and part of the fair was an education day where I was to demonstrate my wax carving techniques. So challenge accepted! Took the weekend to carve it from a block of wax, but here you go! Hope folks will like it!
