Behind the Booth at Hal-Con: My Sparkly, Cosplay-Filled Vendor Adventure
The HAL-CON Vibes Hit Different
Okay, listen — HAL-CON was wild in the best, busiest, most caffeinated way possible. You know when you’re so excited and overstimulated that you completely forget your feet exist? Yeah. That was me behind my table, living my best geek-vendor life while surrounded by the friendliest humans Halifax has to offer.

My Booth Became a Tiny Geek Universe
I swear I barely stepped outside my booth all weekend. But honestly? I didn’t want to leave. Every time I looked up, another incredible person was there: longtime clients I finally got to hug in real life, new faces discovering my work, and folks who wandered in like, “I smelled shiny things and followed the call.”

Even though I couldn’t roam the con floor, the cosplays came to me. It was LEGEND.

“Stephenie, maintain professionalism. Do not scream.”
Did I fail that mission? Frequently.
Halifax People Are Top-Tier Humans
There is something magical about Halifax con-goers. They’re warm. They’re funny. They hype your art like you're selling rare enchanted loot. They bring snacks. They apologize when you bump into them — witchcraft, honestly.

When You’re Too Busy to Move, the Party Comes to You
Sure, I didn’t get to see the panels. Or the gaming room. Or the celebrity guests.
But my booth? It became its own tiny convention!

It reminded me why I do this — the connection, the conversations, the shared nerdy excitement over shiny things.
The Vendor Life: Exhausting but Worth Every Second
By the end of each day, I was a cryptid made of glitter dust and sore muscles. But I was also buzzing with happiness.

Being busy meant you were there. Being tired meant I got to create art that resonated with people. Being behind my booth meant I had a constant stream of magic coming right to me.

And honestly? I wouldn’t trade that kind of con experience for anything.
Thank You, HAL-CON
Thank you to every person who stopped by.
Thank you to every cosplayer who made my booth feel like a parade.
Thank you to Halifax for being the kind of city that treats its artists like real-life NPC quest-givers.

You made my weekend unforgettable.
Until Next Year…
I’ll be back with more shiny things, more geeky designs, and looking forward to seeing your next cosplay!

If you came by the booth — or if you were one of the incredible cosplayers who made my day — feel free to leave a comment or tag me in your HAL-CON pics! I’d love to see them.
Thanks for reading,
